ASKY resumes flights to 15 African countries ASKY resumes flights to 15 African countries

In a statement, the pan-African company ASKY announced the resumption of its flights to Abidjan in Ivory Coast, Bamako in Mali, Bangui in the Central African Republic, Bissau in Guinea Bissau, Conakry in Guinea, Cotonou in Benin, Dakar in Senegal, Douala and Yaoundé in Cameroon, Freetown in Siéra Leone, Libreville in Gabon, Lomé in Togo, Monrovia in Liberia, N'Djamena in Chad, Niamey in Niger, and Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso.

“ASKY's full network will gradually re-establish itself as more airports open up to international flights. Other destinations are expected soon, ”promises the air carrier. These are the routes to Banjul in The Gambia, Accra in Ghana, Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Brazzaville and Pointe Noire in Congo, Lagos in Nigeria, and Johannesburg in South Africa.

The company had suspended all its activities since mid-March due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, its eight planes (seven Boeing 737s and one Dash 8) remained parked on the tarmac at Lomé airport, and its crews were put on forced leave.

It is moreover this crisis which delayed the opening of its new route between its base in Lomé, and Praia in Cape Verde, via Dakar, initially scheduled for April 1, 2020. But in its future growth plans, ASKY is studying the possibility of serving East Africa, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Paris in France, and Lebanon.
