Emirates Boosts Mauritius Connectivity with Third Daily Flight Emirates Boosts Mauritius Connectivity with Third Daily Flight

Emirates is significantly enhancing its presence in the Mauritian market with the launch of a third daily flight between Dubai and Mauritius, starting December 1, 2025. This move strengthens Dubai as a pivotal hub for African travel, offering agents a wider array of options for their clients.

The new Boeing 777-300ER service, operating as EK709/710, complements Emirates’ existing two daily A380 flights. This addition represents a substantial capacity boost, with Emirates now offering over 15,000 weekly seats between Dubai and Mauritius. The 777 service introduces more schedule flexibility, catering to both business and leisure travelers. Notably, Emirates remains the sole carrier providing First Class on this route, a key selling point for luxury travelers.

This expansion is particularly timely given Mauritius’ robust tourism recovery. The island welcomed nearly 1.4 million visitors in 2024, a figure expected to rise further in 2025. Emirates’ increased capacity aligns perfectly with this growth, offering seamless connections to Mauritius from over 140 destinations across the Emirates network. This extensive reach spans key markets in the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and select Far East destinations, making Mauritius more accessible than ever.

The partnership between Emirates and Air Mauritius, a codeshare arrangement, further amplifies connectivity. This collaboration streamlines travel itineraries, offering smoother transfers and a wider choice of flights for passengers. Air Mauritius benefits from access to Emirates’ vast network, while Emirates leverages Air Mauritius’ regional expertise. This synergy creates a powerful proposition for travel agents seeking comprehensive travel solutions for their clients.

Emirates’ commitment to Mauritius extends beyond passenger transport. Since launching services in 2002, the airline has carried over 8.8 million passengers and 126,000 tonnes of cargo, contributing significantly to the island’s economy. Emirates’ operations have injected millions into the Mauritian economy, supporting local jobs and boosting tourism revenue. This sustained investment underscores the airline’s confidence in Mauritius as a prime destination.

In a competitive landscape, Emirates’ enhanced service positions it as a leader in the Mauritius market. While other airlines like British Airways, Air France, and Kenya Airways also serve Mauritius, Emirates’ frequency, capacity, and global network offer a distinct advantage. The new EK709/710 service, with its convenient timings and diverse cabin classes, provides travel agents with a compelling product to offer discerning travelers.

Emirates’ strategic move not only benefits the airline but also strengthens Mauritius’ position as a leading Indian Ocean destination. The increased accessibility and seamless connectivity will undoubtedly attract more visitors, further stimulating the island’s tourism sector and reinforcing its appeal to travelers worldwide.
