South African Airways (SAA) resumed commercial operations in September 2021, after 18 months of restructuring. At the end of this laborious period, its liabilities were estimated at 3.5 billion rand (192 million USD). A debt that the South African State has promised to clear gradually, to allow the national airline to become a financially viable company again.
The Eurowings Discover Airbus A330-200(registered D-AXGB) got grounded after a hard landing at Windhoek Airport, Namibia on 19 February. The incident happened during operation of flight 4Y142 from Frankfurt, Germany towards the Namibian capital on 18 February.
