Airlink Announces Service Disruptions Due to Civil Unrest in Mozambique Airlink Announces Service Disruptions Due to Civil Unrest in Mozambique

Airlink regrets to inform its customers of disruptions affecting several of its daily flight services from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Maputo, Mozambique, as a result of the ongoing civil unrest in the region. The airline is taking these measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its passengers.

Two flights were significantly impacted: the early flight from Maputo to Cape Town, flight 4Z 370, scheduled to depart at 06h35, and the Johannesburg flight 4Z 271, set for 07h20, were both canceled. To accommodate affected travelers, all passengers from these flights were rebooked onto flight 4Z 277, which departed from Maputo to Johannesburg at 09h55. Those headed to Cape Town were rerouted through Johannesburg to reach their final destination.

Airlink is committed to closely monitoring the situation in Mozambique, particularly in Maputo, and will be assessing conditions on a daily basis. If necessary, the airline will implement schedule changes or adjustments as the situation evolves. Customers with existing bookings will receive updated information through SMS notifications or via the FlyAirlink App.

Currently, these disruptions primarily affect Airlink’s night-stop flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg into Maputo, as well as the early-morning departures returning to those cities. However, it is important to note that Airlink's other services to and from Beira, Nampula, Pemba, Tete, and Vilanculos remain unaffected at this time. Airlink is dedicated to resuming normal flight operations to and from Maputo as soon as the situation around the airport stabilizes and permits safe travel.
