Royal Air Maroc has finalized a significant long-term leasing agreement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) for 13 brand-new Boeing 737-8 aircraft, with deliveries scheduled to commence in 2027. This deal underscores the ongoing competition among global lessors to partner with rapidly expanding African carriers that are developing major aviation hubs.

The agreement deepens the strategic relationship between Royal Air Maroc and DAE, supporting the Moroccan flag carrier’s ambitious fleet expansion and modernization plans. The addition of these fuel-efficient Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets will enhance the airline’s operational flexibility and capacity, particularly on regional and short-to-medium haul routes.

This move aligns with Royal Air Maroc’s broader growth strategy, which includes strengthening its position as a key gateway between Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The new aircraft will enable the airline to meet rising passenger demand while improving environmental performance through the latest-generation technology.

Industry observers note that leasing companies like DAE are increasingly targeting African airlines as the continent’s aviation market grows, driven by rising middle-class travel, expanding tourism, and enhanced connectivity initiatives. Royal Air Maroc’s deal exemplifies this trend, reflecting confidence in Africa’s aviation potential and the carrier’s role as a leading hub operator.

With deliveries set for 2027, the lease of these 13 Boeing 737-8 aircraft will be a cornerstone in Royal Air Maroc’s fleet renewal, complementing existing aircraft and positioning the airline for sustainable growth in the competitive African and international aviation landscape.
