RwandAir start operating into Bangui in Central Africa RwandAir start operating into Bangui in Central Africa

RwandAir will start operating on February 1, a new Kigali-Bangui-Douala route. From this date, the Rwandan national carrier will offer two flights per week (Wednesday and Sunday) between the Rwandan and Central African capitals, with an extension in the economic capital of Cameroon.

The line will be operated without competition in a Boeing 737-800. This is the first new route the company has opened since resuming commercial operations on August 1, 2020, after their suspension on March 19, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Until now, RwandAir was busy to rebuild the pre-crisis network. To do this, RwandAir has resumed its flights to around twenty services in Africa, Europe and Asia.

However, the revival of its flights to China and Israel is still expected. In a recent interview with the Rwandan newspaper New Times, the chief executive of RwandAir suggested that the public flagship could suspend its flights to London, depending on the speed of the spread of the new strain of Covid-19 that is raging there. “We are currently monitoring the situation, and consulting with relevant stakeholders,” said Yvonne Makolo.
