Big Fish Africa Launches Nile Perch Fishing Expeditions in Uganda for 2027 Big Fish Africa Launches Nile Perch Fishing Expeditions in Uganda for 2027

Big Fish Africa, a new specialist fishing travel company, has launched privately guided and hosted Nile perch fishing expeditions in Uganda's Murchison Falls National Park, with its first hosted departures scheduled for March and June 2027.

Founded by Kevin James, who lived in Uganda for around 15 years and has spent more than a decade fishing the River Nile, Big Fish Africa focuses on offering small-group fishing expeditions targeting giant Nile perch in one of Africa's most remarkable wilderness destinations. Working with experienced local fishing guides and operators, the company offers carefully organised expeditions combining five days of fishing with accommodation and transfers, providing international anglers with access to the Nile's extraordinary freshwater fishing opportunities. The first personally hosted expeditions will take place from 27 February to 6 March and 26 June to 3 July 2027.

Private expeditions can also be arranged on alternative dates. Fishing takes place from boats using heavy conventional tackle, with a strong emphasis on catch-and-release practices and responsible fishing. The expeditions also offer opportunities to experience the wildlife and landscapes of Murchison Falls National Park. Big Fish Africa works with local partners and supports community and conservation initiatives in Uganda, including the work of Future Generations Trust.

The company is also seeking partnerships with specialist fishing travel operators and African safari companies interested in offering Nile perch fishing expeditions to their clients.
