WTM London 2026: Mauritius and Rodrigues Island strengthen Global travel trade partnerships WTM London 2026: Mauritius and Rodrigues Island strengthen Global travel trade partnerships

Mauritius and Rodrigues Island are exhibiting at WTM London 2026, as reported, with the event running from 3 to 5 November at ExCeL London. Both destinations are present under the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) umbrella at Stand N10-200. The Mauritian delegation is led by Tourism Minister Richard Duval, joined by Dinesh Burrenchobay (MTPA Chairman), Benoît Harter (MTPA Director), and Zeenat Gangee (Promotion Officer). The Rodrigues delegation is led by Tourism Commissioner Jean-Alain Wong So and Sophia Swee (Rodrigues Tourism Office), with participation from hotel groups, AHRIM, and destination management companies.

This presence targets UK and international travel trade professionals, including tour operators, travel agencies, and planners. For African sellers, Mauritius remains a year-round Indian Ocean destination relevant to their product portfolios. The event is a key opportunity for business development and to reinforce or create new partnerships in the UK market, which is historically important for Mauritius.

For the African trade, new partnerships or agreements made at WTM London may affect product availability, pricing, or promotional support for Mauritius and Rodrigues. Sellers with existing Mauritius product partnerships should monitor outcomes from the event and contact the MTPA or their suppliers for updates or trade support. The event also allows for networking with UK-based partners and exploring new business opportunities.

No official Air Mauritius route or frequency data from African hubs was found during research. This is an open question for sellers: those interested in connectivity from Johannesburg or other African cities should check airmauritius.com for current schedules. No comparable data on another African or Indian Ocean destination's WTM London 2026 participation was found, and this gap should be noted for benchmarking purposes.

WTM London 2026 is confirmed for 3–5 November at ExCeL London. The previous edition saw 182 countries represented, a 5% rise in exhibitor numbers, 5,500 high-quality buyers (up 8%), and over 40,000 business meetings. Mauritius and Rodrigues are positioning for continued growth in international markets. For African sellers, the dual-destination offering of Mauritius plus Rodrigues may present new packaging opportunities. Open questions remain on tourist arrival figures, UK market share, visa rules for African travellers, and Rodrigues visitor data. Sellers should seek these from the MTPA directly.
